~*~ Jennifer's Review~*~

Ask yourself this question, if the fate of the world rested on your shoulders, would you be strong enough to rise to the challenge?  That is the question that Namon has to ask himself.  Orphaned at 7, he has lived the last 10 years with his godmother, Katrina.  As his 18th birthday arrives, the evil forces that took his parents are back to try and kill Namon and take the powerful amulet that would mean the destruction of the world.  Sworn to protect him at all cost, Katrina gives her life to do just that.

Namon learned at a very young age to keep his distance emotionally, because loving someone has meant that he will lose them, but that all changes one night when is sees the beautiful Aluana at the Whiskey River Bar.

Aluana has no memory of her life prior to being "turned" into a Vampire by the evil Cyrus.  For years she has been held captive at his compound in Atlanta.  Now that they are moving to New York, Aluana is enjoying the new found freedom that Cyrus is allowing her.  She has been sheltered all her life, and never thought that she would find love, until the night that she met Namon.

It is love at first sight for these two, and something deep in their souls recognizes the other that they can't explain, but they just know that they need to be together.  That they are each other’s missing half.  When evil threatens to destroy their world, what choice do they have but to fight.

Now Namon, along with a pack of Skin-Walking Werewolves and a tiny Gremlin named Oz, must fight and fight hard if they are going to be able to defeat the evil that is coming.

This is not your typical Vampire verses Werewolf kind of story.  This book has a little bit of everything for everyone.  You like Vampires, this book has it, you like Werewolves, this book has it.  Demon's, Gremlins, Dragons, Wizards?  Yep, this book has it.  This is a great book for young and old.  Nothing too graphic.  The characters are wonderfully written and the story just pulls you in and keeps you hooked.  The author left an opening for more books to come and I will definitely look for more.

I would give this book 4 stars!

5.0 out of 5 stars Paranormal Action A Must Read !September 24, 2013
This story was so unique and different from any paranormal book I usually read. This was action pack from the start to the end. Author was not kidding when he said a fight between good vs evil. It keeps you on your toes, kept me on edge. I had to stay up to read what will happened next. From 7yr old Namon loosing his parents to Paranormal beings to be raised by his godmother Katrina. Stories his mother told him as a child were true stories that he later finds out, that are true.

Namon goes through so much in his life growing up with wolves, vampires, demons, and many different paranormal creatures that are summon to get something that is need to bring "Hell on Earth, and Destruction". He Is joined by so many people that as he grows, he comes in contact with new family, a wolf pack and one member is a gremlin that attaches himself to Namon from the start, he is the last of his kind- named OZ. I really liked him. When you read the book you will too.

But getting back to the story, Ronald Griffin is a very talent author, this book bring the vivid details picture right before your eyes. A private movie showing in your mind, that you just can't put the book down (eBook). So many mix emotions sadness, happy, anger, love, hate, and revenge to new level. This is a must read if you are into paranormal stories. The author wrote it perfectly to integrate all the different types of paranormal creatures, so the reader is not disappointed. Even some I never heard of. So prepare get on a ride that will keep you reading till the end. I wasn't ready to get off the ride, but I look forward to more books written from Ronald E.Griffin. Amazing author and book. There is so much more I am leaving out, because it will spoil the fun of the reader to find out for themselves. I rate this book above a 5,if I could I would give it a 10. It was that good.!!! A Must Read!

I was given this ebook in exchanged for an honest review.

This review is from: Blood Stained Lives (Blood Stained Saga) (Volume 1) (Paperback)
Blood Stained Lives is full of action packed adventure. The author does a magnificent job describing each and every detail from what the characters look like to their very cores and what they are feeling throughout the book. I guarantee you will feel as if you are a part of this story, yourself. Just pick a character, whether good or evil, and get ready for the ride of your life. I look forward to reading more of these books!

After reading the reviews for Blood Stained Lives, I was excited to get the chance to read and review it. I must say, first and foremost, that the novel gives action, revenge, romance, humor, and last but certainly not least, a powerful package of a unique cast of characters that have their personalities wonderfully portrayed. And, the relationship between Namon and Aluana..... :) Wow!

Unlike the onslaught of Vampire/Werewolf novels that are flooding the market in recent years, Blood Stained Lives creates a world much bigger. It is truly a novel for every realm of urban fantasy reader without the rehashed, overused characters and plot lines. If you are like me, looking for something different, you will certainly get it with this novel!

With that said, though, I have to admit that I, personally, struggled with reading the novel. Not because of the story, but because of the technical writing structure. A very big rule in the writing world is 'show don't tell', and in my opinion the book throughout fell short with showing exposition to the characters emotional thoughts and the events of the story. Instead the events and feelings are told, not shown, giving a very detailed feel like a screen play, as if to say 'then this happens, then this happens, then this happens'.

In the end, aside from a few grammar errors and show don't tell errors, Ron Griffin gives a fun, exciting, and engaging urban fantasy novel and I can't wait to see more from him and watch him grow as a writer.

Phenomenal paranormal book. If it wasn't for work,
sleep and family I wouldn't have put this book down.
I can't wait for the next in the series! Classic bad guys,
creative and imaginative! Fast paced and hooks it's claws into you!

Vampires, gremlin, demons, werewolves. All packed in with a power punch
to a reader's imagination. In places I laughed so hard I almost
woke my neighbors!

I'll read this one again and again! I really love the amazing way he has
written just enough to really kick my imagination into overdrive.

There's something for everyone. Action, revenge, romance,
supernatural creatures, comedy, a gambit of emotional pitfalls.

To the author,
Bring it on! I'm definitely in to read as many
as you dare to write!
Thanks for the laughs and the imagery!

This isn't your typical werewolf/vampire book. It's got demons, Gremlins, and everything in between. Namon, age seventeen, discovers that he and his adoptive mother (his godmother, Katrina) come from a long lineage of werewolves, and Namon himself is a White Wolf--the last of his kind. Through the story, Namon struggles with what the ancient vampire Cyrus takes from his life, but he finds a new normal with a pack of skinwalkers. His mission is to prevent Cyrus from gaining the pieces he needs (an amulet and two rings) to fulfill his evil plan, and along the way, Namon meets Aluana, a vampire who turns out to be more important than even she herself knew.

One of my favorite elements of this book was the Gremlin named Oz. He's a mischievous little guy who, after wreaking his share of havoc on the household appliances, becomes emotionally attached to Namon and becomes his unofficial sidekick, helping out in fights when he can and enjoying marshmallows by the bonfire the rest of the time. He's adorable! Brice is another really fun character--his personality is great, and he's fun to read about. And, of course, I enjoyed reading about Aluana and Namon's relationship, but I won't spoil it for you!

Author interview and Bio

I know that this is my own blog but I would like to share some questions that have been asked of me. Also figure posting my Bio wouldn't hurt either :)

Bio:
Ronald Griffin is a 31 year old Author who grew up in Georgia and still lives there today. His current writing style includes paranormal fantasy and horror. He has been writing since he was 9 years old when he wrote a Tiny Toons Adventure skit for his class and it was well received. From there, he was absorbed with writing about Superheros but once high school hit, the supernatural started calling him, especially the werewolves. This is where his latest The Blood Lives Saga was born. You can either find him locked away in his writing cave or at his local Cracker Barrel where he supports his fantasy genre reading habit. His Author idol is the husband and wife writing team Ilona Andrews. He has thoroughly enjoyed their magic series novels and feels encouraged that they are from his same state. When not writing, you can find Ronald spending time with his daughters (ages 3 and 9) and his son (age 7). He can be found spending time making precious moments with them and hopefully passing along his writing bug to them.

Author Interview Questions:

What is your name? Do you use a pen name (if so, why?)? Ronald Edward Griffin. No I do not

What type of genre do you write? Paranormal Fantasy

What genre to you personally read? Paranormal Fantasy, Fiction, and Horror

Tell me about your latest? Well it is a paranormal fantasy about this one mans journey to become the hero he was born to be. He has many trials along his way that he must make his way through.

What sparked your passion for books and the art of a good story? My Mom always had a passion for reading and we would always watch movies together as well. We would watch mostly fantasy movies like Legend, Labyrinth, Dark Crystal, Krull, and many other movies and I believe growing up with such movies sparked my imagination. I started writing short stories when I was in kindergarten but they were usually based on cartoons. In middle school I started writing my own superhero story. It wasn't until highschool until I started writing supernatural stories. It was then that I started writing some of the elements of this particular novel. Over the years I wrote many short stories and always wanted to write a novel but certain life events caused me to post pone. I have kids now and decided that I want to leave behind something that they could be proud of

Is there a particular book that changed or affected your life in a big way? Not that I recall

Is there a message in your book that you want readers to grasp? The importance of friends and family. When you have them on your side anything can be done.

What challenges have you faced in your writing career? Getting it started. I didn't realize there was so much work in self promoting. I am just glad I have made some wonderful friends along the way

What has been your best moment as a writer? The feeling of love and support from everyone around me along the way.

Who is your author idol? The writing team Ilona Andrews. They are also from Georgia and the stories they write take place in the state as well.

Do you see yourself in any of your characters? I see certain aspects of myself in all of my characters.

Do you feel like your dream has come true or is there much more to do? This is my first novel and although yes my dream is going to come true, but I believe there is much more to do to keep that dream alive.

What does your workspace look like? My work place varies, sometimes I write from my bedroom, the dining room where I can look out the sliding glass doors, or the locations that are mentioned in my novel. Sometimes it is good to write from the actual locations.

Have you ever had a day when you just wanted to quit? There were times I felt that maybe I wasn't cut out for this but I kept pushing through it and well here I am.

What do you do when you’re not writing?working or watching movies. I enjoy a good movie every now and then.

What are the most important attributes to remaining sane as a writer? Take time for yourself every now and then. Do not let the writing consume you all the times because it can cause you lots of unnecessary stress and your story could suffer from it.

Did you have a moment when you realized you were meant to be a writer? Not really it is just something I have always enjoyed doing in my spare time.

What advice would you give to aspiring authors? Don't be afraid to ask friends for help if going at this alone.

After this book, what is next? Writing a series of origin novellas building up to the release of the second novel for this series
